Wedding Dress Inspo for a Colorado Mountain Wedding

It’s hard to overstate how beautiful a Colorado mountain wedding is. We may be biased (after all, we’ve helped couples throw some stunning mountain wedding celebrations). But there’s something about saying your ‘I do’s’ surrounded by nature with towering mountain peaks as your venue that’s hard to beat.

Once you’ve decided that you’ll be celebrating your marriage in the mountains and chosen your season of celebration, you can start considering the perfect wedding dress to wear for the event. A wooded forest makes for stunning shots of your dress, and a mountain-top view is a backdrop that compliments any style. We’ve pulled some of our favorite looks from mountain weddings across the Front Range to give you a little wedding dress inspo!

Lace is a wedding dress classic that is well suited for a mountain wedding. The intricate patterns of a lace dress stand out against the simple, serene natural setting. A lace wedding dress would be a beautiful option for a spring wedding, when wildflowers are popping up throughout the mountains. A form-fitted style can also make moving around outdoors on your wedding day easier, as you won’t have to keep track of any extra skirts or fabric.

A Long Train

A wedding dress with a long train will have you feeling elegant and show-stopping. While you may think that an outdoor wedding wouldn’t be suited to a long train, it’s a look you can make work! Dryer, warmer weather is best for a long train to ensure that you’re not pulling your dress over wet ground. But in summer and fall, you can steal the show with a wedding dress you, your spouse, and your guests won’t soon forget! Keep in mind that a train will make moving around on your wedding day a little bit more complicated. Consider wedding dresses that have a removable train, so you can wow during your ceremony and be free to dance the night away!

Go Backless

A mountain wedding is the perfect opportunity to step away from tradition and wear a dress that suits your style perfectly. A backless dress is a flattering and beautiful way to show off a little skin without feeling too risque. Backless dresses are becoming increasingly popular in the wedding world, for good reason. It’s a style that goes well with any style of dress, from full skirts to a fitted silhouette, lots of lace or simple fabric.

Keep It Simple

You can’t go wrong with a simple wedding dress. If clean, unadorned lines are your thing, a mountain wedding is the ideal place to show off your classic look. And a simple dress doesn’t mean a boring look. Go for a dress with visual interest, like the straps on the bride above or crepe fabric.

A Full Ball Gown

Your wedding is a big day. How many other events in your life can you get away with wearing a full ball gown? If you’ve dreamed of your princess dress since childhood (or fallen in love with full skirts more recently), a full ball gown is a stunning wardrobe for an equally incredible view!
