A Della Terra Mountain Wedding: Eve and John

Eve and John met on Facebook through a mutual friend. John sent Eve a private message, but she didn’t see it for over a year because she didn’t use messenger at the time. But when she did responded John was thrilled and continued the conversation. John flew from California to Colorado over the 4th of July weekend, 2016 and they hiked in Estes Park. This began the romance and they dated long distance (CA to CO) for the next year. Later John admitted that he knew he wanted to marry Eve after their first date. The following 4th of July weekend 2017 they closed on a house together and John was officially a Colorado transplant.

John popped the question on September 2, 2018 at Concourse Restaurant. While they were waiting to be seated, they ordered champagne at the bar. John pulled out a ring box with a beautiful engagement ring and said those magic words, “Eve, will you marry me?” He couldn’t even wait until dinner! Eve suspected John was going to propose but had no idea that was the night. She was totally surprised.

Eve and John hired Blue Linden Weddings in April 2019 and the wedding planning fun began. They knew from the get-go they wanted to get married in Estes Park where their love story began. It was a destination wedding for the family on both sides. John’s group traveled from England and Malaysia while Eve’s family came from Lithuania and a celebration was had by all!

The wedding was hosted at Della Terra Mountain Chateau and it was a black-tie affair. The bridesmaid wore black statin full-length gowns, the groomsmen were in black tuxedos, John wore a grey tux and Eve looked stunning in a custom-made dress by Emma & Grace.

The flowers included pink and white hydrangeas, white, blush and lavender roses with a touch of greenery to tie everything together.

But my favorite décor items were two pieces that Eve’s father made.  He hand-crafted the three unity candle pieces as well as an art piece for their home which we hung behind the head table during the reception.

The night was filled with love, laughter, dancing and some shenanigans compliments of two groomsmen. It was truly a wonderful evening.
