Inspiration from Real Colorado Mountain Weddings

There are tons of options for wedding venues and locations, but few can beat the beauty of a Colorado mountain wedding. With the Rocky Mountains as a backdrop and the serenity of nature all around, you and your partner can promise your love to each other in an unforgettable location. A mountain wedding is a perfect choice for couples who enjoy spending time or sightseeing in nature and want to bring that into their big day. And every style of wedding finery and wedding dress looks incredible against a deep green forest in pictures.

An added benefit of a mountain wedding is that there’s no bad time of year. While many outdoor venues are reserved during the more temperate summer months, the mountains offer a stunning backdrop year round. Not sure which season is right for your wedding? We have planning inspiration for every season from real Colorado mountain weddings we’ve been privileged to be a part of!

Mountain Weddings in Spring

Spring is a lovely time of year in many places and the mountains are no exception. If you are planning a spring wedding, take a look at late spring with May and early June offering a backdrop of budding wild flowers and aspen trees. Keep in mind, the weather is often unreliable during the spring. Bright, sunny days and random snowstorms happen with equal frequency in the mountains.

Summertime Mountain Celebrations

There’s a reason that summer is one of the most popular times of year to celebrate a wedding — it’s beautiful! Although summertime is warm and picturesque in many places, summer in the mountains of Colorado is without comparison. Rocky Mountain venues offer stunning views, serenity, and can be easily accessed in the summer with no need to worry about winter driving conditions.

Fall Mountain Weddings

Can you imagine celebrating your wedding day with a sea of golden aspen trees behind you? Fall is the perfect time of year to have a mountain wedding without the heat of the summer or the harsh weather of winter. If you’re hoping to capture the fall colors in your wedding pictures, plan for a late September or early October wedding.

Winter Weddings

Winter weddings are a beautiful and less busy time of year to get married. While it can take some creativity to plan a winter wedding so that you and your guests are all comfortable in the cold weather, winter weddings are absolutely doable. By choosing a vendor that has indoor and outdoor options, you can choose what parts of your wedding to keep inside in the warmth and what parts to take outside for the serene, wintery white landscape. When planning a winter wedding, consider the earlier winter months like December and January, when you’re less likely to deal with the heavy snowfall that comes in late February through April.
