Stephanie & Eric : Botanic Gardens Wedding
September has long been a popular month to get married in Colorado and with VERY good reason. Everything is lush and green and beginning to show a hint of fall colors. The Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield was the perfect choice for Stephanie and Eric, one of our favorite 2017 couples because it showed off all of September’s greenery. On paper this wedding was very low key but the setting made every single detail pop.
The couple kept the wedding party small as this was their second marriage, with their respective children acting as the only bridesmaids and groomsmen. Everyone arrived in a very happy and relaxed mood and seemed to be worry free. Stephanie and the ladies got ready in the house right next to the reception barn and enjoyed some bubbly while they waited! As the day grew closer to the ceremony, Eric sent Stephanie a beautiful bracelet and note which set the tone for the rest of the day and put a huge smile on her face.
The ceremony took place outside with the bright red reception barn as the backdrop. Mason jars filled with flowers in hues of pink and white lined the aisles, with two large arrangements acting as a makeshift altar. As guests approached the ceremony site, they stopped to drop cards and gifts and sign the wooden guest book. The “Pick a Seat Not a Side” sign welcomed guests to the ceremony with a single guitarist playing in the corner. After the marriage was sealed with a kiss, the wedding party and a few other family members took photos while guests enjoyed all that cocktail hour had to offer. Giant jenga, cornhole, and a variety of popcorn paired well with beer and wine!
The reception was open seating which always makes us a little bit nervous, but this crowd was so laid back that they easily got comfortable. The wedding party were the only guests with reserved seats, and the rocks their names were scrolled on were a very sweet touch. The inside of the barn held dinner and pies, pies and more pies, which guests enjoyed as the sun went down and the market lights came on.
Even though this was a fairly small group, almost all of the guests were dance fanatics! The party continued well into cleanup with the bride and groom reluctant to shut the night down. We love second weddings because the couple has moved past the obsession with having the perfect party and has turned their focus to the beauty that is the blending of their families. Congratulations to Stephanie, Eric, and all of their children!
