Beach Wedding Ceremony Must Haves

When you have a beach wedding on your mind, you see inspiration everywhere! It seems like even mundane tasks launch visual details in your mind about beachy fabric, serene floral arrangements, and the awesome smell of sea salt air.

I usually get inspired in the middle of winter when I would much rather have my toes in the sand than in the snow (or snow boots). However, any time of year is a great time to compile your absolute dreamy, beach wedding must-haves. Here are some must-haves that I, and some of my brides-to-be, have found as inspirations.

Natural Elements

Incorporating natural elements into your beach wedding ceremony decor not only accentuates the beachy vibe of the wedding, it is also a budget saver! Sea shells, driftwood, sand dollars, sea glass are all beautiful beach treasures that you can use to adorn your alter, decorate your aisles, or share as mementoes. (I may have a collection of some items to share so you don’t have to arrive months in advance to comb the sand).

Blessings from the Sea

A water blessing, sometimes called a hand-blessing with water, is meant to draw two people closer to one another (since we all know the hands are a direct connection to the heart). Pouring water from a special vessel over a couples clasped hands also makes for beautiful photographs. Water blessings are made extra special when the vessels is a conch shell filled with sea water and the couples embraces aspects of the sea.

Beautiful Ocean Views

This view is part of the reason you invited all your friends and family down to Mexico to celebrate with you. Make sure you and your love, as well as all of your guests, get to take in the breathtaking ocean views with you.

Beach Sunsets

Many couples dream of a sunset beach wedding. Keep in mind that photos of the couple at sunset are best taken after the wedding ceremony concludes. Time your wedding to start 30-45 minutes prior to sunset. This will allow for your ceremony to conclude and your photographer to get you in place for a gorgeous photo like this one.

Whether you are planning an escape for you, your love, and a few close friends or you are looking for a luxurious, all encompassing beach affair, Isla Mujeres has the perfect Caribbean setting for your dream beach wedding. Isla Mujeres is famous for its stunning white-sand beaches, and crystal clear turquoise waters. Along with the beautiful ocean and exotic jungle landscapes, the island offers the rich cultural history of the Mayans next to modern amenities and is just a short ferry ride from Cancun.
